Richard Hillery Landscapes, Not for Profit
Richard likes to be able to put something back into his local community. Although a small company, he feels it is important to help local causes where he can. This project was built at cost at St.Cuthbert Mayne Primary school in Cranleigh with the help and support of both teachers and parents.
The Outdoor Classroom
This area is not really a garden, but was designed as an outdoor classroom that tries to give children and teachers an interactive place to work and express their ideas. It has a shady place where children can sit as a class and have a story read or talk about ideas as a group, or spend time reading alone. The area also has a wildlife area with a wormery and log piles to attract mini beasts. The children love the bendy fairground mirrors, and there are also outdoor boards that are currently full of pictures of "The Hungry Caterpillar". Children are, with the guidance of staff, able to express their ideas in a number of ways though lots of different activities in what is a very limited space. The gardening club also thrives here. we will soon be adding a mosiac that the children will design and build.
